Howie Architects becomes chartered

This summer Howie Architects achieved the status of becoming a RIBA Chartered Practice.

Only architectural practices that are accredited by the Royal Institute of British Architects can use this professional designation.

The prestigious title is a sign of quality and professionalism.

As such, evidence of compliance within a range of different areas of the practice’s operations must be proved.

This includes ensuring a chartered architect supervises all architectural work and that the practice has an appropriate professional indemnity insurance policy.

It must also employ an appropriate quality management system and health and safety policy.

Chartered practices have to reapply each year to maintain their status.
