Past projects have ranged from small home extensions and remodelling designs to property conversions, major renovations and the restoration of listed period houses.
This is some of the feedback Alastair has received from his clients:
A beautiful brick and flint cottage, once thought to have been a school house – the aim here was to restore and convert the character property into a fabulous holiday home.
Owner Vicky said:
“It was great to work with Alastair on our project in Norfolk. We had quite a lot of ideas! Alastair listened to everything and translated them into a design that ticked all our boxes. He held our hands through the design process and really offered fantastic advice and ideas throughout the project.”
This was the conversion of the loft space within a traditional, Victorian, terraced house in Norwich – the design was to encompass a new bedroom and bathroom.
Owner Victoria said:
“Alastair is great to work with, bringing lots of creativity and ideas to the project to ensure our loft conversion is an amazing space to be in, as well as working on a practical level. I’d very much recommend him.”
An old chapel in a conservation area – the owner here was looking to renovate and extend. Alastair’s concept was to follow the design of the old building in part before creating striking contrast with a contemporary, glass space.
Owner Adam said:
“Alastair was a real pleasure to work with on our major renovation and extension project. He listened closely to our brief, explored some really exciting ideas and most importantly worked in partnership with us to develop an innovative and beautiful design. We felt a full part of the design process and Alastair worked quickly and efficiently to develop our plans, get through planning in a conservation area smoothly and coordinate with our builders. I would thoroughly recommend working with Alastair on any similar project.”
This was a small project to create a shower room and space-saving mezzanine level within a compact property.
Owner George said:
“We met and spoke to a few architects but couldn’t find one we were comfortable with. Alastair however has been brilliant. Firstly he took our vision for what we wanted and came up with brilliant plans which we have now agreed, and secondly we went away for a couple of weeks and he promised he would send everything in for planning. We didn’t need to chase but received an email while away to say he had done it. His care to his clients is second to none.”
Set in a conservation area, this project saw the design of a single-storey extension to create a courtyard and new garage.
Owner Rachel said:
“I am very happy to recommend Alastair. He helped design our extension and move our thinking forwards. He listened to what we wanted to achieve and interpreted this really well. Planning was achieved with no complications despite being in a conservation area.”
This cottage required an extension out over an existing garage.
Owner Kelly said:
“Alastair recently prepared some plans for an extension and reconfiguration of our home and we are delighted with the design and level of service. We would highly recommend Alastair.”
An upside-down living house – the aim here was to cleverly extend and remodel to allow the homeowners to step out from upstairs at ground floor level.
Owner Max said:
“Alastair brought an inspirational element of ‘boundary pushing’ design to our extension and remodelling project – thanks Alastair, we are looking forward to continuing the process of development together.”
